Candidates must upload specific documents while filling out the NEET 2026 application form to verify their identity, age, academic eligibility, and category status. The documents required for NEET 2026 include a photograph, signature, thumb impression, Class 10 and 12 certificates, valid ID proof, and category certificates (if applicable).

Additionally, understanding the NEET documents required for NEET Registration 2026 will help you avoid errors and complete the process without unnecessary stress. Here’s a list of documents required for NEET registration.

Identity Proof Required for NEET Application Form

When you are applying for NEET 2026, ensure you have a valid government-issued ID proof. Keep in mind that identity proof is essential for both registration and the application form. Some of the approved government ID proofs are listed below.

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • Ration Card
  • Bank account passbook
  • Any other government-issued photo ID card

Note: Any one of the above-mentioned ID proofs is enough; you don’t need all of them.

Recent Passport-size Photograph

When you are applying for the NEET 2026, you are asked to upload your recent passport-size photo clearly. This photo is used to verify your appearance by the conducting authority. Candidate’s Signature

The conducting authority asks you to upload your signature while filling out the NEET 2026 application form. Make sure the signature is done on white paper with black ink and uploaded clearly without any blur. Additionally, your uploaded signature should match your usual signature. Failing to do so may result in rejection of your application.

Class 10 Certificate

Even though NEET doesn’t have any upper age limit for applying, it does specify a minimum age to appear for the exam. Hence, it is crucial for you to prove your age for eligibility. To do so, the conducting authority asks you to provide your Class 10 certificate or mark sheet as proof of “Date of Birth.”

Note: Make sure the date of birth in the application form matches your official records. If it’s a mismatch, you might face verification issues.

Academic Documents Required

To prove your academic eligibility, you are required to upload your marksheet without fail. Make sure that the images of your marksheets are clearly visible without any shadows. For a successful application submission, you need to upload:

  • Class 10 mark sheet or passing certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet or appearing certificate (if applicable)

Note: The marks in your application form should match the marks on your certificates. Also, enter your board details accurately.

Category Certificate

NTA provides special reservations and reduced application fees for eligible students from particular categories such as SC, ST, OBC, or EWS. If you claim to be any one of the mentioned categories, you need to provide a category certificate to verify your claim.

Once uploaded, these certificates are used for the counselling process as well. So, make sure you use a valid certificate issued by a competent authority. Failing to do so might result in rejection of reservation benefits.

PwD Certificate

If you are claiming a reservation and fee reduction under the PwD category, you need to upload a PwD certificate to verify your claim. Make sure an NTA-recognized authority issues the certificate for it to be valid. Additionally, you should meet the eligible disability criteria set by the conducting body, NTA.

Impression of the Left Thumb

To avoid the possibility of impersonation, the NEET conducting authority requires a left-hand thumb impression during the online application process. To ensure credibility, make sure you upload a clear scanned image of your left thumb impression without any smudges.

Documents Required for NRI / OCI / Foreign Candidates

If you are an NRI/OCI/foreign student, you might be asked to upload your passport details and nationality/embassy or citizenship proof. This is to verify your nationality claim, and additional documents may be required during counselling as well.
