MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026: Round 1 Schedule & Dates

The MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 schedule is expected to be announced soon by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Qualified NEET PG 2026 candidates are waiting for the Round 1 registration dates, choice-filling schedule and seat allotment timeline for admission to postgraduate medical courses.
MCC conducts counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) postgraduate medical seats, along with seats covered under its counselling framework, including 100% seats of deemed universities and specified central institutions. State authorities conduct counselling for the remaining state quota seats.
As of October 6, the official MCC PG Medical Counselling page has not published the Round 1 schedule. It says the seat matrix from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is awaited for commencement of PG counselling.

The MCC NEET PG 2026 Counselling process will be conducted online through mcc.nic.in. Candidates who qualified NEET PG 2026 and meet the applicable eligibility conditions will be able to register once MCC opens the counselling window.

The current status is:

The Mcc neet pg counselling 2026 schedule will provide the exact dates for each stage. Candidates should rely on the official MCC notification once it is published rather than registering through unofficial links or following tentative dates circulated online.

The Mcc neet pg counselling 2026 seat matrix has become one of the major updates ahead of registration. According to the latest NMC data, the overall postgraduate medical seat matrix contains 63,177 seats across MD, MS, diploma, DM and MCh programmes. Of these, 58,468 are NEET PG seats, covering MD, MS, PG Diploma and applicable six-year courses.
Karnataka has the highest number of postgraduate medical seats in the latest matrix, followed by Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Candidates should wait for the MCC-specific matrix applicable to Round 1 before finalising their college and speciality preferences.
The seat matrix is important because it shows students which colleges, courses and categories have seats available for the counselling round. It should be used alongside previous closing ranks while preparing choices.

The Mcc neet pg counselling 2026 registration has not started yet. MCC will announce the registration window through its official website once the Round 1 schedule is released.
The broad process will involve:
• Visit the official MCC website.
• Open the PG Medical Counselling section.
• Register using the required NEET PG details.
• Enter personal, academic and category information.
• Pay the applicable counselling fee and security deposit.
• Submit the registration form.
• Save the confirmation page or registration details.
• Complete choice filling when the window opens.
• Lock the choices before the deadline.

The Mcc neet pg counselling 2026 fees have not yet been officially confirmed through the 2026 MCC information bulletin. Candidates should therefore not treat fee figures from the previous counselling cycle as the final 2026 amount.
MCC generally requires candidates to pay a non-refundable registration fee and a security deposit, with the amount depending on the category and type of institution or quota selected. The exact MCC NEET PG counselling 2026 fees will be known once MCC releases the official 2026 counselling instructions.

After registration and payment, eligible candidates will move to choice filling. This is one of the most important parts of MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 Round 1 because the allotment is based partly on the preferences submitted by the candidate.
Candidates will be able to select colleges, courses and specialities available in the counselling system. They should arrange these choices according to their actual preference.
For example, a candidate who prefers MD Medicine at a particular college should place that choice above options they would be less interested in joining. Candidates can consider their NEET PG rank, category, previous-year trends, college location, fees, speciality and available seats while preparing their list.
Once the choice-locking window closes, changes may not be possible. Candidates should therefore avoid waiting until the final few minutes to lock their choices.

Students searching for NEET PG 2026 closing ranks should remember that the final 2026 closing ranks are not available before the counselling rounds are conducted.
Closing ranks can change every year depending on candidate preferences, seat availability, category, speciality and the number of candidates participating in a particular round.
Previous-year closing ranks can still be useful as a reference. However, candidates should not treat them as guaranteed cutoffs for NEET PG 2026.
A better approach is to prepare a broad list of choices instead of selecting only colleges where the previous closing rank appears close to your own rank.

Once registration and choice filling are completed, MCC will process the choices against the available seat matrix. The allotment considers factors including NEET PG rank, category, choices submitted, seat availability and applicable counselling rules.
Candidates who receive a seat in Round 1 will have to follow MCC's instructions for reporting and admission at the allotted institution. Document verification, fee payment and joining formalities will be completed according to the instructions issued for that round.
Candidates who do not receive their preferred seat should not assume that their counselling opportunity is over. MCC conducts multiple rounds, and candidates can participate in subsequent rounds according to the applicable rules.
The Mcc neet pg counselling 2026 latest news should therefore be tracked through the official MCC website as the schedule, seat matrix and round-wise instructions are released.

The NEET PG 2026 Counselling date for Round 1 has not been announced yet. MCC's official PG counselling page continues to show the schedule as awaited.
Recent updates indicate that candidates can expect the counselling process to move forward after the required seat-matrix and administrative steps are completed. However, any expected registration dates circulating online should be treated as tentative until MCC publishes the official schedule.
For now, candidates should prepare their documents, review the available NMC seat information and research colleges and specialities they are interested in.
Once the MCC NEET PG 2026 Counselling schedule is released, candidates should note four dates immediately: registration and payment, choice filling, choice locking and Round 1 allotment.
Students should also remember that MCC counselling and state counselling are separate processes. A candidate planning to participate in both should check the rules and deadlines issued by the respective counselling authorities.
The most important update right now is simple: MCC has not yet opened general Round 1 registration, and the official schedule is still awaited. Candidates should use this time to prepare rather than wait for the registration window to open before researching their choices.
